Treatment against Varroa
(The
Czech Method)
1. Equipment
- Spray Gun VAT-1A using patented technology of stem
fogger
- Compressor delivering 50 liters of air / minute at
350 kPa
- Protective equipment (respirator, eye and skin protection)
2. Aerosol
- Fluid: 300 ml of clean Acetone
- Active ingredient: 5 ml of VARIDOL (125 g/l amitraz)
- Alternative: 0.5 ml (16 drops) of 240 g/l fluvalinate
(Klartan)
3. Application
- October 1st. - April 15th. (no contact with honey
for human consumption!)
- Daytime when bees do not fly
- Temperature range: -5 deg.C to +10 deg.C
- Dosage/Exposure time: 3 ml per hive = 30 seconds (+10
seconds for 2 chamber colony)
- Seal hive during application + 10 minutes after
4. Effectiveness
- Kills varroa on contact
- Penetrates winter cluster
- Not effective against eggs and varroa inside capped
brood
- Safe for bee products if used as directed
